Adult Circumcision Procedure
Traditional surgical methods with suturing are used for adult circumcision, and the sutures fall off on its own in due course. We give antibiotic to prevent infection before the procedure. You may need painkillers such as paracetamol and Ibuprofen if you are not allergic to them, and it is recommended to buy them before the procedure.

Circumcisions help prevent sexually transmitted infections and diseases, such as HIV. The World Health Organisation has said it reduces risks in heterosexual males by at least 60%. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (US) has released draft guidelines recommending male circumcisions. Circumcisions also reduce the risk of genital herpes and certain strains of human papillomavirus by 30%, and furthermore it lower the risk of urinary tract infections during infancy, and penile cancer in adulthood.
Complications
Complications are rare indeed. However, bleeding with erection after the procedure, swelling, and occasionally infection etc can happen . We advise you to take 2 weeks off work for recovery. You should ideally have a friend or family member to take you home by car, and we advise you avoid public transport after the procedure. The pain is very minimal after the procedure as we apply special dressing and use adequate long acting local anaesthetic.
